Its gratitude day and we are half way through week three!! This round of May Cause Miracles is moving quick.

Today we get to love and appreciate the vessel in which we temporarily live.

I never really appreciated my body until my little one was born. Even through my pregnancy I struggled with the frustrations of my body because being pregnant was a nightmare. I found myself feeling angry with myself because of the way my body reacted to being pregnant and for hating just about every second of it.

I had hyperemesis which required a home IV and a PICC line. Mason gave me a bag of fluids every night because I couldn’t keep anything down, not even water. It wasn’t just morning sickness, it was beyond that and it went on through most of my pregnancy until I was put on medication for it.

When it was time to give birth I had a very prolonged all natural birth that lasted 53 hours and was the most empowering thing I had ever done. I had made the decision to go natural many many years ago because its truly something I was committed to.

Giving birth rocked my world and it required some serious strength and healing (emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically). During birth I witnessed my resistance and mastered the art of surrendering!

When Leo was born I realized just how incredible the human body is. The amount of pain and energy I carried during birth along with the struggles I faced throughout my pregnancy made me realize how strong I am. I created a miracle and I experienced every part of it to bring her into this world.

Over time as I have matured and learned to appreciate my body, the issues I struggle with have more to do with my general health than my looks. These days in between the busy stressful days filled with way too much caffeine I do my best to work in some green juice and do something active. In a perfect world I would make time for daily yoga and definitely drink more water but its a work in progress and I have opportunity for improvement.

I love my body! I am so strong and I am so proud of what my body has accomplished, created and become. Today it deserves a shout out.
