Christmas Memories (With Lots Of Pics)

Christmas is my favorite. I love this time of the year! I love the music, the lights, the parties, the traditions, the treats, the smells, and that its one of those holidays that brings families together. I love how cozy this time of the year is and that it allows us to take a break and snuggle up with our loved ones and re focus on what is most important.

My love for Christmas has evolved over the years and its much more sentimental now. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Christmas memories as well as my favorite things about this time of the year!

Decorating is and always has been one of my favorite traditions. Its like taking an instant trip down memory lane, putting up all of the different ornaments. My grandma always gave us personalized ornaments so we each had our own special decorations to put on the tree, I still have these ornaments on my tree today! Decorating with my siblings each year was complete chaos! I think if I would have been filming more back then it would have been really funny to watch.

Josh and I decorate the Sunday before Thanksgiving, while we decorate the house we drink yummy warm drinks and watch the Christmas episodes of The Office and South Park. I love the way my house looks when its all festive!

And can I just say how fun it is going through these pictures, when Josh and I moved out together all we could afford was a $20 cheap tree and the next year we got a bigger $40 tree. Now we have a big ass tree! Its so cool to see where we started to where we are now.

I love that Christmas time brings families together. It helps re focus everyone on what is most important. My family has had their fair share of ups and downs, there have been multiple times we have all taken turns not coming around but I cant think of a Christmas season that we all didn't come together in some way or another. I love my family and am super excited about this years Christmas festivities. This year we have a sibling party planned as well as our traditional gift exchange.

I know for a lot of people that this time of the year can be difficult especially when it comes to family. If I have learned anything about this topic its to focus on the positive and start re creating traditions! For a long time the holidays were difficult because they reminded me of how broken up my family was but things have started to come together for me and my siblings especially in the last year.

Now that I am married and have a family of my own I get to create my own traditions with my hubby (and our dogs). Its all about making the best of your situation and enjoying the little things. So if this time of the year is tough for you just remember that you are loved and everything happens for a reason! Much love to you from me!

When I was little Christmas was all about the toys as I am sure it is for most kids. I got some pretty kick ass toys when I was younger. Anything barbie related I was in love with! One year I got an ipod which was pretty awesome (yes that was my awkward stage). Blankets, stuffed animals, music, and money were other great gifts.

Now I love giving gifts more then getting them. I love getting someone something that is super personalized just for them and seeing their response. Along with gifts this year I included a personalized card to each one of mine and Joshs family members. You can read all about that in my last blog post!

Christmas time comes with the most amazing feelings. Between the music, the lights, the parties, the traditions, the treats, and the smells this time of the year just makes me happy! Along with adorable Christmas sweaters I still wish I had this little number above. How cute is that dress?

And of course we cant forget about Father Christmas! How great is meeting Santa and his lovely wife!

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas filled with lots of love! Happy Christmas to you!

Much love!
